ABOUT THE ARTISTHey, everybody! My name is Cheyenne, some of you know me as Howly. I am a 2018 graduate of Central York High School and a 2020 graduate of YTI Career Institute. I majored in Arts & Humanities in high school, and CADD in trade school.
I landed my dream job first thing out of high school without even having a college degree yet. I began my career journey with GGS Information Services illustrating black and white line drawings of military equipment. In 2021, I left GGS and began working at TCOM L.P, also illustrating military equipment. In 2022, I had a baby, whose name is Wren. We went through some tough times, but we are finally living our best lives and with an amazing guy too. There's more info below if you'd like to know me better. I hope you all enjoy my artwork! Please share my blog with your friends! |
If you wanna learn some more about me, you can stay right here!
I'm a 23 year old artist living in a judgmental world where people gawk at shit stains on a canvas, while, hyper-realistic drawings are ignored or meticulous paintings are overlooked. Those of us who actually put in the effort deserve to be noticed - so stay, and notice me!
From what you've seen throughout my blog, I enjoy drawing portraits, designing tattoos, sculpting things, photographing things, and writing fictional stories. I've been hired to draw for people plenty of times, it's a good starting point for me to become well-known… but, because there are SO MANY artists in just a 5-mile radius, I will probably never become the GREATEST ARTIST OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA!!! But, I still try, I put myself out there, I share to social media, and I'm slowly building an audience. Recently, at the start of 2020, I began experimenting with digital art on the iPad Pro. And, damn, do I wish I discovered this earlier! My true talents are pouring out of me through the app, Procreate. There's so much opportunity, so much more I can do in a little $10 app, than what I can do on paper. I was meant for digital art.
I was born in December '99 and I grew up in the quiet neighborhoods of York, Pennsylvania. I've been connected to art ever since I was born. My mom is a great artist, I am proud to have gotten such a talent from her. I've been drawing since I was two. I started off on the Magna-Doodle, drawing little scribbly people. I've used my skills throughout all my years of school - drawing cartoons of classmates, portraits of people's pets, and even giving life to characters from my stories! I was even named Class Artist in my senior year of high school! After years of exposing my work to the public, I'm able to successfully take commissions and make a decent amount of cash!
Aside from my personal art, I work from home as a technical illustrator at TCOM L.P. I can't explain much about what I do there, because it's very confidential. But basically, I use my drawing and CAD skills to create graphics for instruction manuals. I think it's super cool, and I wouldn't ask for any other job.
My life took a turn for the worse in 2020, pretty much right after COVID hit was when things started getting bad. I left a toxic relationship in October 2020, only to get right into an even more toxic relationship in January 2021. I was destroyed mentally, emotionally, physically and financially. That lasted for 18 months. I finally found a safe way out and I made it. Although I was absolutely destroyed, I had an amazing gift come from that situation - my daughter Wrenni. For a while after leaving the toxic environment, I soon realized we were again, in another one. I just couldn't seem to escape from the narcissism. In October 2022, I met a wonderful guy named Collin. He was also a victim of mental abuse, like me. And we had a ton in common, he is a hopeless romantic, a huge nerd, and loves the outdoors. I knew he was the one. So I worked very hard to get out of my living situation as fast as possible, and finally in February 2023, Wrenni, Collin, and Myself all moved into our new apartment together and we've been living life happily ever since.
I haven't been able to do much artwork lately, since I have a full time job and I'm also a stay at home mom. So I rarely have any "me time" anymore. But I do have some ideas that I'd like to get working on eventually. I can't make any promises on when they will get done though. So, for now, you can follow my life on Instagram if you'd like. And feel free to reach out.
